ICEBERG LAUNCHES CUBE™

 HIGH-PERFORMANCE DATACENTRE CLOUD-COMPUTING BECOMES REALITY

Ottawa, Ontario, October 18, 2011 – Iceberg Networks Corporation today announces the general availability of their high-performance datacentre appliance.  Using leading-edge technologies, Iceberg has developed Cube™, a product family of the industry’s fastest, high-performance cloud appliances.  All Cube™ models are self-contained, highly secure and deliver unparalleled-performance.  Cube™ solutions can exceed millions of Input Output Operations per Second (IOPS) while using 1/10^th of the floor space, 1/10^th of the power and costing 1/10^th of legacy solutions. 

Each Cube™ is built with innovative, low power, high I/O technology that is highly cost-effective and extremely efficient.  Iceberg has integrated proven legacy technology with cutting-edge high-speed NAND (non-volatile solid-state) technology to create an extremely fast and efficient cloud solution. The performance of the larger models equals that of a world class data centre all in a form-factor that is a fraction of the size.  

The Cube™ Model 1000 Series is being released today and has read/write speeds exceeding one million I/O per second.  NAND flash solid state storage is the foundation of all Cube™ models and delivers the equivalent spindle speeds that exceed 10,000 standard hard drives (over 1 million IOPS) and the bandwidth of 16 fibre channel cards (over 5 GB/s). The Cube™ 1000 model is housed in a 7U chassis and has peak power requirements of only 3.0 KW. All Cube models can be linked and will scale to handle even larger I/O or bandwidth requirements.

Initially available in 1000 Model Series configurations, Iceberg will be shipping the 2000 and 5000 Model Series advanced versions of the Cube™, integrated with industry-leading security tools, ensuring customers that their private cloud is secure, compliant and designed to mitigate risks.
